FAQs
Production FAQs
Common questions about our production services, crew availability, and equipment support.
What crew sizes can you provide for productions in Korea?
We handle everything from two-person documentary setups to 150-person feature film units. Typical commercial shoots run 15 to 30 crew including DP and camera team, gaffer with electrics, key grip with swing, sound mixer and boom op, plus art department and HMU as needed. We've crewed Netflix series with full Korean units and handled single-day corporate interviews with just a shooter and audio tech.
How quickly can you mobilize a crew in Korea?
Seoul-based crew can often mobilize within 24 to 48 hours for urgent jobs. We've assembled same-day news crews when stories break. Regional shoots in Busan, Jeju, or Gyeonggi-do need more lead time, typically 5 to 7 days minimum. Equipment availability from rental houses is usually the constraint, not crew. Two to three weeks advance notice lets us assemble the right team rather than just whoever is available.
Do your crews speak English?
Department heads including DPs, gaffers, sound mixers, and 1st ADs in our network have English fluency and international production experience. That's a baseline requirement. Grips, electrics, and PAs vary in English ability, but we ensure someone on each team can translate when needed. For fully Korean-speaking shoots, we have native crews across every department.
Can you provide equipment along with crew?
We work with major Seoul rental houses daily. Most packages come crewed because the gaffer works from their preferred lighting truck and the DP picks their camera package. Our company takes care of customs procedures and carnet documentation for international productions which choose to bring their own equipment. All gear arrives to set tested and prepped.
How do Korean crew rates compare to other countries?
Korean rates fall between Southeast Asian markets and Western territories like the US or UK. We quote all-in costs so there are no surprises on labor charges. The KOFIC production incentives for extended productions enable studios to reduce their Korean production costs which makes Korea an attractive location compared to other territories with lower day rates.
