Local Transit metro · bus · taxi · rideshare

metro

9 extensive lines plus regional rail covering all Seoul. Runs 5:30am-midnight. Extremely efficient for crew movement.

Crew tip: Metro filming requires Seoul Metro Corporation authorization (3+ weeks). Avoid Lines 2 and 4 during rush hours with equipment.

bus

Color-coded bus network (blue/green/red/yellow). Night buses (owl bus) run 11pm-5am on select routes.

Crew tip: Green buses useful for Bukchon and palace areas where metro access is limited.

taxi

Orange regular taxis and black deluxe taxis available. Kakao T app widely used for booking.

Crew tip: Deluxe taxis more comfortable for equipment. Most drivers understand basic English destination names.

rideshare

Kakao T dominates the market. Uber operates as Uber Korea with limited availability.

Production Parking difficult · Permits required

Street parking extremely limited in central Seoul. Underground parking available (3,000-5,000 won/hour). Gangnam easier than Jongno.

Production vehicle permits available through Seoul Film Commission. Base camp locations typically arranged in Yeouido, Sangam DMC, or designated film zones.

Getting Between Locations

Seoul's metro connects most filming locations within 40 minutes. Gyeongbokgung to Gangnam: 25 min. Consider traffic for vehicle shoots - rush hours (8-10am, 6-9pm) add 30-60 min to journeys. KTX connects to Busan (2.5 hours) for multi-city productions.
