Location Sound Services
Professional on-set sound recording for film, TV, and commercial productions throughout Korea.
Location sound services cover the full audio workflow on set. We record dialogue and ambient sound, and we manage wireless systems and playback. From Seoul's busy Myeongdong district to the calm temples of Gyeongju, our teams handle South Korea's varied acoustic settings with pro gear. A skilled sound team captures each part of your audio cleanly, which cuts the need for costly post-prod fixes.
We offer full location sound packages across South Korea. Our crews are based in Seoul and Busan and work at CJ ENM Studios, KBS, and on location across the country. The team sets up crew and gear to fit your format and scale, so the audio meets broadcast and theatrical standards.

Production sound mixers built for Korea's location acoustics
Location sound in Korea is shaped by the land as much as by the shoot calendar. Han River wind cuts through exterior dialogue scenes, and the narrow stone-walled streets of Bukchon hanok village throw back a short slap. Itaewon and Gangnam are thick with street traffic, while Namsan Mountain sites carry steep echo. Coastal work in Busan and Jeju runs into surf and offshore breeze.
Our production sound mixers carry kit tuned for those conditions. We run Sound Devices 833 and 888 multitrack recorders, with Sennheiser MKH416 short shotguns as standard and Cinela Pianissimo blimps for wind. For tighter interior pickup, we use the Sanken CS-3e and Schoeps CMIT 5U. Cart and bag rigs are matched to format, from K-drama series coverage at The DMC hub and Paju Studio Cube to documentary chasers running run-and-gun through the markets of Myeongdong and Namdaemun.
We scale crews to how busy a scene is. A typical Korean drama or feature team runs a mixer, boom ops, and a utility sound tech, while documentary work folds down to a one- or two-person rig. Wireless channel counts grow through Lectrosonics SRc and Wisycom MCR54 receivers, and we clear frequency planning against KCC and MSIT allocations in the 470-698 MHz band.
We deliver sound reports nightly in Korean and English, with timecode and metadata aligned to the editor's NLE and the chosen Korean post house, which is typically Live Tone Studio, Sound Tribe Korea, Mediaslash, Tigertail Sound, or CJ Powercast. Our crews are fully insured under Korean production liability cover and work often on K-content cash rebates-eligible shoots across Seoul, Busan, Incheon, and the wider production network.
FAQ
Our Sound Network
What's included in location sound services?
Each location sound package has a production sound mixer, pro recording gear, microphones, and basic wireless systems. We add boom operators, more wireless channels, and special gear to suit your budget and how complex the shoot is.
What recording formats do your mixers use?
Our sound mixers work with industry-standard recorders such as Sound Devices, Zaxcom, and Zoom F-series. We deliver in all common formats (WAV, BWF, polyphonic) with clean metadata, timecode, and sound reports that fit major post-prod workflows.
Can you handle challenging acoustic environments?
Yes. Our mixers are skilled at tough locations such as busy streets, industrial sites, and echoey spaces. We test the acoustics during tech scouts and suggest fixes such as wireless lavaliers, directional mics, and portable acoustic treatment.
How do you coordinate with post-production?
We deliver detailed sound reports for each shoot day, with clearly labeled and organized audio files and direct communication with your post team. Our mixers know post-prod workflows and record with editing and mixing in mind.
What about multi-camera productions?
We handle multi-camera setups for TV, live events, and documentary work. Our mixers sync timecode across cameras and recorders, manage ISO tracks for each source, and deliver stems that make post-prod easier.
Do you provide sound equipment rental separately?
Yes. We rent standalone sound gear such as recorders, microphones, wireless systems, and accessories. You can rent the gear with or without an operator, and we can advise on the right package for your needs.
