Director of Photography Services
Experienced DPs for film, TV, commercials, and documentaries throughout Korea.
A Director of Photography shapes the look of a production. They make the creative calls on lighting, camera movement, lens choice, and framing. South Korea's film industry has boomed on the back of global hits like Parasite and the wider Hallyu wave. That success has produced a generation of top cinematographers whose vivid visual storytelling shows the craft of Korean DPs.
We connect you with skilled Directors of Photography who grasp both the creative and the practical sides of your shoot. Whether you film at CJ ENM Studios in Paju or on location in Busan, our team pairs your project with DPs who bring the right visual eye. KOFIC incentive programs and gear from local rental houses back the work.

Korean DPs with feature, drama and commercial credits
South Korea's Director of Photography community has grown with the Hallyu wave and the global hunger for Korean film and television. The country's award-winning features have set a world benchmark for framing restraint and precise lighting, and that standard carries through the wider camera community. Decades of acclaimed Korean cinema have built a deep bench of cinematographers with a clear, exportable visual identity.
That range stretches from fast-paced action cinematography to the slick visual flair of high-end K-pop music video carried into commercial and brand work. Our network of more than 150 DPs spans this full spectrum. It runs from new KSC members shooting independent features at Paju Studio Cube and Namyangju Studio Tricky to senior cinematographers with global agency, streamer, and feature credits.
Engagements start with a brief, reference deck, and budget envelope. They then narrow to a shortlist of picked showreels and direct talks before booking. Our DPs are fluent across ARRI Alexa 35, Alexa Mini LF, RED V-Raptor and Komodo, and Sony Venice 2 packages. These come from rental houses such as NAC Image Technology, ARRI Korea, Sony Professional Korea, and Hello Pictures Korea. Most DPs bring working ties with the gaffer, key grip, and 1st AC teams they prefer.
Pre-shoot days cover shot lists, lighting plans, and location tech scouts across Seoul, Busan, Jeju, and the regional studio belt. They also cover KOFIC or K-content cash rebate forms where the production qualifies. Global shoots can pair a Korean DP with a travelling director, or place a Korean DP onto a foreign-language shoot abroad. Either path runs through one camera-teams contract.
Our DPs run the camera department to KOSHA on-set safety standards. They plan rigging loads, working-at-height rules, and crew rest around long K-drama days. For street work in Gangnam, Hongdae, or Bukchon Hanok Village, they fold in Seoul Film Commission permits and Korea Heritage Service rules near the palaces. Aerial inserts that need a drone unit route through MOLIT clearance. The DP keeps the look consistent while the wider crew stays inside the rules.
On delivery, our DPs set the on-set colour pipeline and a show LUT so dailies match the graded intent. They log lens, filter, and lighting choices for each setup, which keeps episodic looks steady from block to block. Camera media is backed up on set, checksummed, and handed to the DIT or post house with shot notes. We work to Korean broadcast specs for KBS, MBC, SBS, and JTBC, and to streamer specs for Netflix and Disney+ titles.
FAQ
Our DP Network
What experience levels of DPs do you provide?
We provide DPs across all experience levels. New cinematographers suit indie and low-budget projects, mid-level DPs bring solid commercial and documentary credits, and senior DPs hold feature film and global broadcast experience. Our team matches that experience to your budget and project needs.
How do you match DPs to projects?
We read your creative brief, reference materials, and budget, then shortlist DPs with the right genre experience and visual fit. You get picked showreels and can ask for direct talks with candidates before booking.
What camera systems do your DPs work with?
Our DPs work fluently across all the major cinema camera systems, including ARRI Alexa, RED, Sony Venice, Blackmagic, and Canon cinema lines. Many focus on a chosen system, but all adapt to your production needs and to what the rental houses have free.
Do DPs come with their own equipment?
Some owner-operator DPs bring their own camera packages, while others work with rented gear. We arrange gear sourcing around your preference and budget, whether through DP-owned gear, rental houses, or kit the production supplies.
Can you provide international DPs for shoots in South Korea?
Yes. We can source global DPs for shoots in South Korea and handle the work permits and logistics. Our team also places Korean DPs on global shoots that need local cinematography talent abroad.
What's included in DP day rates?
Standard DP day rates cover on-set cinematography during production hours. Pre-production work, such as tech scouts, shot listing, and meetings, is mostly billed apart. Gear, camera assistants, and late hours cost extra and depend on the project scope.
