SCENE 01 / PORTABLE POWER SOLUTIONS
Portable Power Solutions
Professional power solutions for film production anywhere in Korea.
Portable power keeps shoots running where the mains supply is weak or absent. South Korean shoots span dense urban Seoul, historic palace grounds, and remote Jeju Island, so reliable power must meet strict noise and emissions rules.
We source portable power matched to your load needs and location limits. You might film in Seoul's Bukchon Hanok Village, on Jeju's volcanic coast, or in Busan's port district. For each, our team weighs noise rules, runtime needs, and site factors to pick the right package.

On Location
Silent power matched to Korea's grid and noise rules
Power on Korean shoots starts from a 220V/60Hz KEPCO baseline. From there it scales out to the power packs and battery options crews use on location. Whisper-quiet film power packs come in 20kVA, 40kVA, 100kVA and 200kVA classes from depots in Seoul, Busan and Gwangju. Operators are included as standard on anything above 40kVA.
Distribution is built around Korean three-phase and single-phase setups. It adds proper load balancing, circuit protection and Bates-style cable runs to the lighting and grip teams. Lithium battery packs — V-mount and Gold-mount cinema batteries, plus larger portable battery banks — cover sensitive interview setups and run-and-gun documentary work. They also suit the rising slate of K-content shoots where silent power is non-negotiable. Solar charging and helicopter-transportable battery kits stand ready for remote sites across Jeju and the eastern coast.
Korean location work brings firm safety and noise limits. We prepare MOLIT (Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport) and KOSHA (Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency) records as standard for power pack deployments. This matters most in historic districts such as Bukchon Hanok Village and the Gyeongbokgung perimeter, where noise and emissions rules are strict. We then run power assessments against the gaffer's gear list.
ARRI SkyPanel and HMI loads draw quite differently from Aputure 600x or Astera Titan tubes. So we spec packages with proper headroom for startup surge and lighting cues. Power pack operators and electrical leads stay through wrap, handling refuelling, load running and troubleshooting. The same crews and depots support K-content cash-rebate-eligible shoots on tight delivery calendars across Seoul, Busan and Jeju.
Korea's seasons drive the power plan as much as the gear list. Summer heat near the Han River pushes air-conditioning and cooling loads onto the package. Winter cold in Gangwon Province slows engines and drains lithium packs, so we add warmers and spare capacity. Jeju Island and the East Sea coast bring salt air and gusty wind, which we factor into siting and fuel reserves. Each plan is built for the day's location and weather.
We treat records and handoff as part of every power booking. Our operators keep fuel logs, load readings, and runtime notes through the shoot day. We share a clear distribution map so the gaffer and grip teams know each circuit and its limit. Cable routes and earthing are documented for the next crew. At wrap, we confirm safe shutdown and hand the production a tidy power record that supports KOSHA review and cash-rebate paperwork.
FAQ
Professional Power Services
How do I calculate power requirements for my production?
We work power needs out from your gear lists, and lighting draws the most. Our team checks total wattage, allows for startup surges, and picks the right power pack capacity with safety margins. Typical small shoots need 20-40kVA, while larger shoots may need 100kVA+.
What's the difference between film generators and standard generators?
Film power packs, also called whisper power packs, are built to run quietly, mostly 60-70dB at distance versus 80-90dB for standard ones. That gap matters a lot when you record sound. They also give cleaner, steadier power for sensitive gear.
Can you provide power for remote locations without road access?
Yes. We supply helicopter-transportable power packs, portable battery systems, and solar setups for remote sites. Remote power takes planning ahead, so we lock in enough capacity for your shoot before the day.
Do generators come with operators?
Power pack operators are on hand and advised for larger shoots. They handle startup, tracking, refueling, load management, and troubleshooting. For smaller power packs, trained crew can run them with a proper briefing.
What battery options are available for silent shooting?
We supply high-capacity lithium battery systems for fully silent power. They range from portable packs for small setups to large battery arrays for full lighting packages. These suit interview setups, sensitive location work, and any shoot that needs zero power pack noise.
How is power distribution handled on set?
We supply distribution boxes, proper cable runs, and connection hardware. Our team manages it to balance loads, protect circuits, and deliver safe power to every department. The electrical crew or power pack operator watches distribution across the shoot.
