SCENE 01 / POWER SOLUTIONS

Power Solutions

Professional production power for your Korean production.

Scroll

Power solutions for film production cover portable power packs, battery systems, solar rigs, and hybrid setups that deliver reliable electricity in any location. Choosing the right power way depends on load needs, noise restrictions, site-level considerations, and the logistical constraints of each shooting environment.

We check your production's power needs and source appropriate solutions from local providers, whether that means quiet power packs for dialogue scenes, high-capacity units for large lighting setups, or battery systems for remote locations. Our team manages delivery, fueling, and tech support across your shoot.

On Location

Production power scaled across Korea's locations

Power options for Korean shoots start with an honest load assessment against the realities of each location. The KEPCO grid in Seoul, Busan and the major regional capitals carries trusted 220V at 60Hz with sensible mains tie-in options where the venue permits, while shoots on Jeju Island, in mountain valleys near Pyeongchang or out on tidal flats on the west coast need fully self-contained power-pack support.

We draw power packs from depot partners in Seoul, Busan and Gwangju, ranging from 20kVA portable units to 500kVA tow plants, with super-silent and hybrid-battery options for sound-sensitive scenes shot in hanok interiors, monastery courtyards or any of the dialogue-heavy Joseon-era sets that Korean directors of photography favour.

Battery infrastructure matters as much as the gensets themselves. Our V-mount and Gold mount inventories support cinema cameras and extras with parallel charging banks that handle multi-camera commercial days. Block batteries cover heavier draws on Steadicam and gimbal configurations. Solar and hybrid rigs are ready for shoots filming in covered national parks where power-pack noise and fuel transport are off-limits under KOFIC and park-service permits.

Imported lighting shapes the solution we design. Fixtures arriving on an ATA Carnet often expect different voltages or plug standards, so our rental desk pairs gensets and battery rigs with step transformers and matched output. We confirm every head's draw and inrush before the build, then size the unit with sensible headroom. This lets a foreign DP run a familiar package off Korean power without overloading a borrowed circuit or a portable pack.

Korean electricians licensed for film production handle tie-ins and monitor loads through the shoot day. They set up fuel resupply across multi-day schedules from a single point of contact, and a standby unit is ready to swap in the same shooting day if a primary pack faults. The same crew can pivot from a Hongdae rooftop commercial to a temple-courtyard feature scene within a single production block without rebuilding the power plan from scratch.

Pricing is quoted in Korean Won with 10% VAT itemised on every line. Daily and run-of-show rates cover the units, while fuel, transformers, charging banks and electrician time are costed transparently up front. Production insurance is required and can be arranged through us or your own broker. For qualifying foreign productions, we format power records to support KOFIC incentive and cash rebate claims, so electrical spend stays documented from the first prep day through wrap.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What size generators do you provide?

We supply power packs from small 20kW portable units to large 500kW tow-behind power packs. Most narrative shoots use power packs in the 60-150kW range, based on lighting needs. We can calculate the right size for your needs.

Are your generators suitable for film sets?

Yes, we give super-silent power packs designed for film production. These units are baffled and housed to cut noise, allowing them to be positioned closer to set without interfering with sound recording.

Can you coordinate tie-ins?

Yes, we can set up building tie-ins where appropriate and permitted. Tie-ins can be more economical for studio work or locations with enough electrical infrastructure. Our team handles all planning with building management.

What battery systems do you offer?

We stock V-mount and Gold mount batteries from Anton Bauer, IDX, and others for cinema cameras and accessories. We also give block batteries for larger gear and complete charging solutions for multi-camera shoots.

Do you provide electricians?

Yes, we work with qualified Korean electricians skilled in film production. Having local electrical crew makes sure compliance with Korean rules and efficient, safe power distribution.

What about remote locations?

We can power shoots in remote locations across South Korea. This has setting up power packs delivery, fuel supply, and tech support for locations without convenient grid access.

Productions in South Korea that need this often pair it with Power Distribution Systems for full coverage. Most projects also draw on Lighting Equipment Rental and Audio Equipment Rental.
