Online conform is where the offline edit turns into a broadcast-grade master. For shoots wrapped in South Korea, that final assembly really matters. One sync drift or out-of-gamut frame can draw a rejection from KBS, MBC, SBS, JTBC, or the global platform that holds the licence.

Our conform artists rebuild each timeline frame for frame from the first camera media. Into it go the colour passes and the title cards. They add VFX from Korean houses such as Mofac Studios, Digital Idea, and Hello Pictures Korea. They also fold in dialogue, music, and effects stems cut in sound studios such as Live Tone Studio and Tigertail Sound across the Digital Media City (DMC) hub and Paju Studio Cube clusters. Handles, pull lists, and shot replacements are tracked against the OK'd edit decision list, so nothing slips between offline and final.

Quality control runs against the published tech specs of the target. That might be the ATSC 3.0 terrestrial framework used by Korean TV networks. It might be the IMF-based ingest profiles global streamers need, or the loudness and safe-area rules global networks enforce. Each file is checked frame by frame on calibrated reference monitors. Scopes then auto-check luminance, chrominance, R128 or OP-59 audio loudness, sync, subtitle placement, and metadata. Issues are logged with frame-exact timecodes in a written QC report. Producers can then sign off fixes before any file leaves the site. The payoff is a first-pass acceptance record that protects release dates across cinema, broadcast, and streaming windows.

Editorial in Korea runs on Avid Media Composer and Adobe Premiere Pro, so we conform cleanly from either. We ingest the offline as an AAF, XML, or EDL and relink to the original camera files at full resolution. Effects work rendered in After Effects, plate fixes, and graphics packages all drop back into their exact timeline slots. We confirm frame counts, handles, and reel structure against the locked cut. This careful relink stops the small drifts that otherwise creep in when a project moves between editors, suites, and VFX vendors.

Korean dramas often carry burned-in or file-based subtitles in several languages at once, since a show may air at home and stream worldwide in the same week. Our conform stage manages those tracks with care. Korean, English, and other language passes are timed to the picture and checked for safe-area and reading speed. Dolby Atmos and 5.1 mixes from the sound studios are laid back and confirmed in sync against the final cut. We verify every version branch so a Coupang Play master and a Netflix master each carry the right elements.

The output is not one file but a managed set of deliverables. From a single conformed master we build the broadcast version for KBS, MBC, SBS, or JTBC, the IMF package for global streamers, and any cinema-bound source for theatrical release. Each branch is QC'd on its own terms before it ships. We attach full metadata and a signed compliance report to every package. That clean handoff lets the receiving Korean network or platform ingest the file without sending it back, which keeps tight air dates safe.
