Cinema filter sets matched to Korean shoot conditions
Lens filter inventory carried out of our Seoul base covers the full Tiffen, Schneider. Formatt-Hitech ranges that Korean cinematographers and visiting DPs draw from. Standard 4x5.65 and 6.6x6.6 stock has ND 0.3 through 2.1, IRND for digital sensors that misread infrared on the V-Raptor and Venice 2, variable NDs for run-and-gun documentary work around Hongdae and Seongsu.
Graduated NDs in soft, hard, and reverse profiles for the seasonal sky running that exterior shoots on the Han River and along the Jeju coast demand. Polarizer stock — both circular and linear — is matched against the camera and matte box system in prep so that reflection control on Lotte World Tower glazing, the rivers and reservoirs around Paju. The autumn lake plates at Naejangsan does not introduce vignetting at the wider focal lengths.
Diffusion choices receive specific care because the look of today's Korean drama and commercial work sits between sharply rendered and gently softened. Tiffen Black Pro-Mist in 1/8, 1/4, and 1/2 grades, Schneider Classic Soft. The Glimmerglass halation stock are kept ready for testing against the production's specific lens set before principal photography starts. Matte boxes from ARRI, Bright Tangerine Misfit Atom.
The Tilta and Wooden Camera kits that Korean rental houses commonly pair with mid-weight builds are supplied with the correct number of filter stages and rotating polariser trays for the cinematographer's plan. Testing time at the camera prep site in The DMC hub or at a partner studio in Paju is built into each filter booking so the DP, focus puller. DIT can lock the combination before the unit leaves for location, whether that is a Pyeongchang snow shoot, a subway tunnel plate at Songpa, or a Gangnam interior commercial.
Filters are fragile, so our rental desk ships every set with backup glass for the grades a shoot leans on most. We carry spare Black Pro-Mist and ND stock against scratches, fingerprints, or a dropped tray on a long day. Glass is cleaned and inspected on return from each location run, whether the unit came back from a humid Jeju coast shoot or a dusty exterior near the DMZ. A spare matte box and extra trays travel with multi-camera builds so a damaged filter never stops the camera.
Our team delivers filter cases across South Korea from the Seoul base, reaching DMC and Paju prep stages by truck and splitting kit to Busan or Jeju by road and domestic air cargo when units divide. Inbound matte boxes and filter sets cleared under ATA Carnet at Incheon are reunited with your camera package in prep. We quote in Korean Won with the 10 percent VAT itemised, and qualifying foreign productions can route filter rental through a KOFIC incentive claim with our paperwork support.
