SCENE 01 / LED WALL VIRTUAL
LED Wall Virtual Production
In-camera visual effects for your Korean production.
LED wall virtual production uses large LED screens to show real-time rendered worlds behind your actors. It swaps the old green screen for true-to-life, in-camera backgrounds. South Korea is a global K-Drama and K-Film leader. Busan Cinema Studios runs the country's best-equipped sound stages with their own virtual production setup, Art Service Studios in Paju runs three stages, and Seoul Studio Complex plus CJ Powercast Studio fill out the major sites.
We connect you with LED wall stages and Unreal Engine teams across Korea, backed by post houses such as U5K Imageworks, VA Studio, Westworld, Locus (Naver), Welike and XON Studios. XON focuses on XR stages. Our team books your stage, lines up virtual art department crews, and secures the Korea Location Incentive (up to 30%) through KOFIC, so your shoot has a full ICVFX pipeline.

On Location
ICVFX volumes from Paju to Busan Cinema Studios
LED wall virtual production swaps the classic green screen for a large LED volume that shows true-to-life worlds behind your actors. The camera captures it all at once, with real lighting, eye reflections and parallax-correct backgrounds. South Korea is now one of Asia's best-equipped regions for the craft. Studio Cube in Paju is the country's top LED volume site, the Namyangju Studio Tricky backs the K-drama slate at scale, and the DMC hub in Seoul holds its own virtual production stages.
Busan Cinema Studios anchors the southern coast with the country's best-equipped sound stage and built-in VP setup. CJ ENM has put money straight into LED stages for K-drama and K-film, which grows the ready capacity across the major studio clusters.
Real-time rendering runs on Unreal Engine through our partner virtual art teams. They build worlds from photogrammetry of Korean sites such as Gyeongbokgung Palace, Bukchon Hanok Village, Hallasan and the Busan waterfront, or design them from scratch for sci-fi, period and impossible-location work. Camera tracking locks parallax to the moving camera, so the wall reacts the right way through dollies, jibs and handheld shots. Our colour scientists match the LED panels to the cinema body and the post pipeline.
XON Studios focuses on XR stages and plugs straight into the Locus, Westworld, U5K Imageworks, VA Studio and Welike post houses that take the final composites. We file KOFIC forms alongside the stage booking to confirm Korea Location Incentive eligibility of up to thirty per cent for qualifying K-content shoots. Our virtual art teams begin in pre-production, so the assets are stage-ready by your first day on the volume.
FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
What is LED wall virtual production?
LED wall virtual production (also called ICVFX, or In-Camera Visual Effects) uses large LED screens to show real-time rendered worlds behind your actors. The camera captures both the actors and the background at once, so the lighting and reflections look real.
What are the advantages over green screen?
LED walls light actors in a natural way and give true reflections in eyes and surfaces. They also let actors see the world they are acting in. Because the look is captured in-camera, you need far less VFX work in post.
What kind of environments can you create?
Almost any world. This ranges from real Korean places such as Gyeongbokgung Palace, Bukchon Hanok Village, Jeju volcanic island, Seoraksan mountains and Busan beaches, all the way to sci-fi worlds and past eras. We can build each world from photogrammetry of real Korean sites or design it in Unreal Engine.
Do you have LED stages in South Korea?
Yes. Busan Cinema Studios runs the country's best-equipped sound stage with a full virtual production setup. XON Studios focuses on XR and LED volume stages. When a custom build is needed, we can also set up short-term stages at Paju, Seoul or Jeonju.
How does camera tracking work?
Camera tracking gear reads the camera's exact position and angle in real time. The virtual world then shifts with the right parallax as the camera moves, which gives believable changes in perspective.
What's involved in pre-production?
Virtual production needs heavy pre-production, since we must build the digital worlds, plan camera moves, and set up the tech. Starting early gives us time to make the assets and refine the creative choices.
