Underwater Filming Services

Certified dive shooting for marine, pool, and aquatic shoots across \t\t\t\t\tKorea, from Jeju Island's volcanic waters to the Busan coast.

An underwater camera operator films below the water's surface. The work blends dive skills with pro camera craft. These operators shoot from the volcanic scenery of Jeju Island to the marine waters of Busan. Jeju is also home to Korea's famous haenyeo free-diving tradition. The job means handling waterproof housings and underwater lights. It also means working through poor visibility, currents, and crew talk. Dive shooting needs special training that goes well beyond normal camera work.

We connect you with certified underwater camera operators. They hold pro dive credentials and real film experience. Our network covers Korea's coasts, from Jeju's soft coral forests and Busan's coastal waters to the East Sea. We also run pro pool venues in Seoul. Each one is set up to deliver cinematic underwater footage safely and fast.

On Location

Certified underwater cinematography across Korean waters

Underwater camera work in South Korea centers on four very different settings. We pick our operators for proven work in each one. Jeju Island offers the country's most cinematic underwater terrain. You will find soft coral forests off Seogwipo and volcanic walls at Jungmun. Its warm, clear water draws marine documentaries, and the haenyeo free-diving heritage adds a strong story angle.

The East Sea off Sokcho brings colder, deeper water suited to wreck work and dramatic dive scenes. The Wando archipelago in the southwest opens up channel diving and tidal-flow shots. Controlled pool and tank work for K-pop, fashion, and feature drama is staged at studios in Seoul and Busan. There, dome ports, surface-to-underwater shots, and actor safety can be rehearsed before the camera rolls.

Each operator on our register holds pro dive certifications matched to the depth and conditions. The surface teams behind them draw on Korea Maritime and Ocean University safety crews for the tougher ocean briefs. Housings match the camera package agreed with the DP. That covers ARRI Alexa Mini, RED Komodo and V-Raptor, Sony Venice and FX6, and Blackmagic systems all run often through our kits too. Each one ships with calibrated dome ports, underwater monitors, and its own LED and HMI lighting plans.

Dive plans, risk checks, safety-diver staffing, surface support, and emergency steps are all logged before any actor enters the water. We do this in line with Korean diving rules and global film industry safety standards. Team leads size the crew to the brief. That might be a one-day commercial dive at Jungmun. It might also be a multi-day feature sequence that needs stunt planning and a hyperbaric chamber on standby.

FAQ

Professional Underwater Operations

What certifications do your underwater operators hold?

Our underwater camera operators hold pro PADI, CMAS, or equal certifications. We match these to the filming depths and water conditions. Many also hold pro dive shooting certifications. For hard shoots, they carry HSE or equal commercial diving qualifications.

What camera systems can you use underwater?

We run underwater housings for ARRI Alexa Mini, RED Komodo/V-Raptor, Sony Venice/FX6, and Blackmagic cameras. The housing we pick depends on your camera package, the features you want, and the depth. Our kits also include special underwater cinema cameras.

Can you film with actors underwater?

Yes. We bring in trained water safety leads and coach actors for underwater work. Non-diving actors can be filmed in calm, shallow water with safety divers close by. Hard underwater stunts need careful planning and a clear safety plan.

What locations in South Korea are suitable for underwater filming?

South Korea offers many underwater filming spots. Jeju Island has clear tropical water and marine life. The East Sea and southern coasts bring mixed conditions. Lakes and rivers offer fresh water. We also use many studio tanks and pools for controlled shoots.

How do you handle underwater lighting?

We use special underwater LED and HMI lights in waterproof housings. For pool and tank work, lights set above the water can reach the subject well. Deep or murky water needs its own underwater lighting package, which our team plans in pre-production.

What are the safety requirements for underwater filming?

All underwater work needs risk checks, dive plans, certified safety divers, surface support, and emergency steps. Our crews follow Korean diving rules and film industry safety standards. Hard sequences may need a hyperbaric chamber on standby.
