Korea's music-video and commercial cinematography has reached a polish that global agencies now treat as a benchmark. The senior DPs in our South Korea network came up through the rigorous KSCG-affiliated camera-assistant pipeline behind the country's feature and commercial output. Mid-tier DPs in the network carry credits across tvN, JTBC, Netflix Korea, and the global commercial accounts shot through Seoul's Digital Media City hub. Most of our senior and mid-tier DPs work fluently in English and Korean. They take a director's reference in English, then run the floor in Korean with the gaffer, grip, and AC teams. That bilingual bridge keeps a global production moving at Korean drama pace rather than stalling on translation. On a KOFIC-qualifying foreign shoot, the DP also helps shape the shot plan around eligible spend, so the cash rebate works in your favour. We brief them early on the incentive so creative and budget pull the same way.

DP day rates in South Korea are quoted in Korean Won, with the standard 10% VAT shown as a separate line. A standard rate covers on-set cinematography during shoot hours. Tech scouts, shot-listing, and prep meetings are billed apart, as are overtime and far-location travel to Busan, Jeju, or Gangwon Province. Camera kit, the AC team, and any specialist rigs sit on their own lines so the quote stays readable. We confirm the full structure in writing, and lock a backup DP for long schedules, before the booking is final.
